CHALLENGE: As an international Tech company, Microsoft is constantly recruiting bright new talent that will help change the way the world utilizes the internet. Microsoft is one of the most globally recognized Brands, considered to be one of the “Big Four” Tech companies worldwide. Microsoft Windows has globally recognized products that interact with billions of consumers daily. Although they are one of the most widely recognized Brands on the planet, they work in a crowded market. Microsoft needed a recruitment marketing partner to create a process for approaching, attracting, and retaining quality candidates. The Branding needed to be streamlined, allowing the recruitment product to speak for itself.
SOLUTION: The team at RocketDog has over 20 years of recruitment marketing experience. Because of this expertise, the team was able to provide refreshing marketing solutions that would resonate with prospective talent. We wanted the people and the culture of Microsoft to be at the center of the Brand strategy. The new Branding was designed to educate candidates while getting them excited about working at the epicenter of the Microsoft network. Every piece of collateral that was created for this project uses consistent messaging and engaging photography to showcase the global impact a candidate could have as a Window’s employee. RocketDog utilized extensive consumer research briefs to create an integrated campaign that resonates with both the current audience and high-level prospective applicants. The suite developed for Microsoft included Web content, online banners, email templates, standardized job descriptions, event collateral, and much more.
By utilizing the refreshed Brand, we were able to create collateral that would educate talent while inspiring them to change their perception of careers on the Microsoft Windows team. The bold and bright colors of the campaign, coupled with the fun and lighthearted photography were a visually dynamic way to tell the story without feeling cluttered or ‘busy’.

We used concise yet comprehensive content in an effort to exercise a brave new design that portrayed the core culture of the Microsoft Windows team. We wanted this content to be personal, not too corporate.
In fact, we were able to deliver just the opposite by using succinct and impactful copy that got right to the point and spoke directly to the candidates. It was an exercise in brave new design that delivered the core of the Microsoft Windows team without being too corporate.
